Vintage Notes:
2021 started off with a bang with Mother Nature giving us an incredible ice storm that lasted about 2 weeks. Thankfully the timing was early February so there was no damage done to our vines. Then the spring kick-off was fairly normal, giving us a late April budbreak. Summer did rise high in temperature and was long and hot. Picks came in early this vintage, starting early September which is unusual for our site. This Chardonnay came in roughly one month sooner than usual. Those hot gorgeous days with cool late nights were just the perfect growing season for our Mid-Willamette Valley region for Chardonnay, among other varieties.

Winemaker Notes:
This 2021 Chardonnay came in very early and jumped right into fermentation. The fruit was picked by hand and pressed whole cluster. The juice was sent to tank for fermentation. Full malolactic fermentation was done in barrel after being racked off gross lees.
